Changing Your Password
Change Your Temporary Password to a New Password
Upon initial login, it is important to remember to change your password from the temporary password (provided in the Login Instructions email for first-time login purposes) to a new password that can be used whenever you log into your account.
In order to change your password, go to the Manage Account section of your account. You can access the manage account section by selecting the name of your account (located at the top right hand corner) and clicking on Manage Account from the options that appear.

Selecting Manage Account will redirect you to the Manage Account page.
You can edit or update the following information here:
- Active status: The active status toggle button shows whether or not the primary account administrator is activate or inactive. If the toggle button is grey or switched to off, then the primary account administrator is inactive and cannot login to the account. If the toggle button is green or switched to on, then the primary account administrator is active and is able to login to the account. It is recommended to keep the status as active.
- First Name: Edit/update the primary account administrator's first name (e.g. changing 'John' to 'Johnathan')
- Last Name: Edit/update the primary account administrator's last name
- Email: Edit/update the primary account administrator's email address (e.g. change 'john.doe@gmail.com' to 'john.doe@selfinc.com'). The newly updated email is where all notifications/messages regarding account information (e.g. monthly statement, password reset, etc.) will be sent.
Please note that this section of the Manage Account page has its own respective Cancel and Save button (that are separate from the changing password section). Selecting the Cancel button will redirect you to the account home page. Selecting the Save button will process your changes to First Name, Last Name, and/or Email information.
Change Password
In order to change your password, enter a new password in the New Password section. Upon completion, enter the same password in the Confirm New Password section. Select the Change Password button to process the password change.
If your password has been changed successfully, you will receive a confirmation notification in the lower right hand corner.
Potential Errors that Can Occur When Attempting to Change Your Password
Make sure that your password meets the following requirements. Not meeting these requirements can result in error(s) and may prevent you from being able to change your password successfully.
- Password Length: Verify that the password length meets character requirements. Your password must be twelve characters or longer. If your password does not meet this requirement, you will receive an error message.
- New Password and Confirm New Password must match: If what you entered for your password in the New Password section does not match what you entered in the Old Password section, an error will occur.
In order to avoid these errors, make sure that your password meets the password length requirements of twelve characters or more and verify that the password you entered in the New Password section matches what you entered in the Confirm New Password section.
