What is an Instance?
Instances are collections of features and can be used to provide logical separation between different physical locations, departments, or anywhere you might need different phone system behaviors or features within the same account. Sites have a DNS name and are tied to a thin client which is where the actual call processing takes place. After creating a new site, you'll describe how your phone system should act and how phone calls can be routed by adding features and linking them together.
Instances allow you to have an organized, seamless partition between different physical locations, different departments, or in any capacity in which you may need unique phone system behaviors or call features within the same account. This allows you to have a highly flexible, scalable and cost-effective phone system that can be custom tailored for any user.
