Phone Numbers Overview
Phone numbers provide a way for callers to reach your phone system from the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network). Phone numbers provide an entry point to your phone system and site and are often the starting point of a call routing path. The call routing path eventually terminates to a conference room, device, fax machine, forward, menu, SIP trunk, ring group, schedule, and/or voice mail box. 6: How to Add a New Phone Number
Perform the following steps to add a new phone number:

Select the add icon within the Phone numbers section of the instance home page (reference what is circled in red in the visual below).

Enter the following necessary components:

Enter a Name that would uniquely identify the phone number record (e.g. 'John Doe Inc. Main Office')
- Select the a destination for the phone number from the Destination dropdown (e.g. 'John Doe Inc. Menu (menu:295)')
- From the Category dropdown, select the type of phone number you would like to search for: Domestic or International.
Once you have selected the type of phone number, perform a phone number search. The phone number type determines the type of phone number search that will be performed.
How to Perform a Phone Number Search
How to Search for a Domestic Phone Number
You can perform the following phone number searches when searching for a domestic phone number:
Area Code
Enter an Area Code (e.g. '720') and click on the Search button.
If the search processes successfully, a New Search button will appear along with a dropdown menu.
Select an option from the dropdown menu and select the Save button. Alternatively, if you would like to start the search over agin or repeat the search, select the 'New Search' button.
City, ST Search format
Alternatively, you can enter the city and the abbreviation of the state in the search field (e.g. 'Denver, CO' for Denver, Colorado) and click on the 'Search' button.
If the search processes successfully, the New Search button will be displayed along with a dropdown menu.
If the search process is unsuccessful (e.g. searching for a city with the incorrect state such as 'Denver, AZ'), a 'No results error will be displayed.
Select an option from the dropdown menu and select the 'Save' button. Alternatively, if you would like to restart the search or perform a different search, select the 'New Search' button.
ST Search Format
Enter only the state abbreviation in the search field (e.g. 'CO' for Colorado)
If the search processes successfully, a 'New Search' button will appear along with a dropdown menu.
As you can see in the visual above, when you select/click on the dropdown menu, a list of phone numbers are displayed. The city and state abbreviation is displayed next to each phone number (e.g. 'Leadville, Co' or 'Denver, CO').
After performing the phone number search (via search 'Area Code,' 'City, ST,' or 'ST') and selecting a phone number, click on the Save button. If the phone number is saved successfully, you will be redirected to the instance home page and a notification will verify that the phone number was created successfully (visual of notification is shown below).
This completes the setup process of adding a new domestic phone number.
How to Search for an International Phone Number

Select the International option within the Category dropdown menu.

A dropdown menu will appear next to the search bar.
Selecting this dropdown menu will display the list of all countries. Select the desired country from the dropdown list (e.g.'United Kingdom').
- In the search bar, enter the desired city (e.g. 'London'). Select the Search button.
- If the search is successful, a notification will be displayed stating that there are numbers available for the specific region you have chosen.
A disclaimer below this notification states that you will be unable to choose a specific number.
You will not know the specific phone number that has been assigned to the phone number record until you have saved the new phone number record. Once you click on the Save button and receive the verification message that the phone number saved successfully, you are able to re-access the newly created phone number via the phone number table (from the instance home page) and view the new phone number. The phone number assigned to the recently created phone number record will be displayed in the Number column of the Phone numbers table (circled in red below).
