Conference Rooms Overview

Conference Rooms allow multiple users to call into the same endpoint for group conversations or meetings. Conference rooms consist of one moderator and one or more participants. Conference Rooms can be created on-the-fly or the same Conference Room can exist. For example, a weekly conference call can use the same Conference Room and PIN.

Conference Rooms can be accessed by any of the following methods:

Phone Number

The calling party can dial a phone number. Once connected and if there is a greeting setup, the calling party will hear the greeting first. They will then hear music on hold. Once the moderator enters the conference call, the music on hold will seize and the conference will begin.

Extension

Scenario: The calling party will dial a 4-12 digit extension. Once connected, if there is a greeting setup, the calling party will hear the greeting first. The calling party will then hear music on hold. Once the moderator enters the conference call, the music on hold will seize and the conference will begin.

A Menu Option

Scenario: The calling party will list to the menu options provided by the auto attendant. Once the calling party selects the option that will direct them to the respective conference call. Once connected to the conference call, if there is a greeting setup, the calling party will hear that first. The calling party will then hear music on hold. Once the moderator enters the conference call, the music on hold will seize and the conference will begin.

As discussed in the scenarios above, if a greeting is present, it will play before the caller is prompted to enter their PIN. Callers must enter a PIN to join the conference. Hold music is played until the Moderator has joined the conference. Different tones indicate if a caller has joined or left the conference.
