Billing Settings

Billing Settings Visual

This Billing Settings section allows you to edit your minimum balance, your minimum recharge preference and your maximum recharge preference. You can either select Cancel if you do not want to proceed with any of the changes or select Save if you would like to proceed/process your edits. Selecting the Cancel button will redirect you to the home page of the account.

Step 8: How to Make Updates to Your Billing Settings

The following changes, updates, and/or edits can be made on the Billing Settings page:

  • Minimum Balance preference: This is the minimum balance/amount the account should have. If the minimum balance threshold is reached or exceeded, the system will make at least the minimum payment
  • Minimum recharge preference: The minimum amount the system should charge if the balance of the account is less than the minimum balance preference.
  • Maximum recharge preference: This is the maximum recharge amount per day. This is an anti-fraud measure since a fraud event may cause the credit card to be utilized multiple times. Once the limit per day has been hit, the account is suspended once it hits the maximum recharge preference threshold. A notification email is sent to you prior to the suspension of your account (and before the maximum recharge preference limit is reached). This gives you the opportunity to either reach out to our support team or research/investigate before your account is suspended. An email notification is also sent when your account is suspended.

How does Billing Preferences Work?

Let's look at the following scenario.

Your current balance is $10.05 and you make a ten minute phone call. Based on your plan, the cost of one minute is $0.01 (one cent). Your account is billed $0.10 (ten cents) and your account balance is now $9.95. Based on your account preferences, the minimum balance preference is set to $10.00 and the minimum recharge preference is set to $15.00. This means that anytime your account is below the minimum balance preference threshold of $10.00, a $15.00 recharge payment is made to satisfy the minimum set balance preference. Therefore, when your account balance became $9.95, a $15.00 payment is made to your account. This makes your account balance $24.95.
